Trend Alert: Velvet

Velvet! Velvet Velvet! What is Velvet even? Recently there has been a huge trend with this type of fabric, velvet. You know that soft fabric that is thinner than fur and thicker than suede. Retail stores have come up with velvet shirts, velvet dresses, velvet shoes, velvet pants and now even velvet pajama sets. And why not? It is so soft and comfortable.

For this recent holiday, I've brought out the velvet for different types of holiday parties whether it be formal or comfortable. Velvet also is not restricted with color, and so this material has been popping out with bright yellows and vibrant blues.

For myself, I love the minimalist look with this new material and so I like to play off with different fabrics and subtle colors.
