Trend Alert Tuesday: Berets

For this new trend alert we have the ever most classic hat, the beret. Nothing beats a classic black beret with a blue and white shirt for a Parisian feel. But now I wanted to go the extra mile and pair it with outfits that are a little more unexpected. One outfit could be a night out to a concert and the other a comfortable, but chic, date night look.

This first look, I threw a pair of black leather leggings, my favorite mesh Stussy tee and a black turtle neck underneath. I love the pairings of band tees or loose tees on top of turtlenecks. I mean not all of us want to hide our favorite band tees underneath oversized coats this winter. This pairing is perfect for those crisp fall nights.

For this season, I absolutely love the pop of red on black. For a girl that loves to wear black 24/7, this is a bit of fresh air for myself. To pair this outfit up, I also put on these comfortable back sock booties. I love the mix of fabrics with the velvet from the boots and leather from the leggings.

The yellow tinted sunglasses from H&M was just a bonus for the look to show off a bit of my state flag. "RED, BLACK, GOLD, WHITE"

This special beret also came with grommets that have become such a popular detail in a lot of pieces. So adding it to the hat was just what I wanted. The grommets and pins gave it a bit of edge with this outfit.

This second look, was where I wanted to get creative from my inspiration of an effortless Parisian style. The pastel fur coat and the black slip dress was just an excellent pair for this black wool beret. The best part about this beret was the simplicity to its design, nowadays berets are being sold with unnecessary graphics and words. Sometimes "simple" is best.

This outfit just calls for a romantic date night, and an Instagram filled night of #ootds.

I kept the same bold red lip with this, to contrast the pastel pink and black. I also paired the outfit with a nice black lace choker with a velvet band detail. Then the black sock boots also made a return just because they are just so comfortable.

With the black ensemble and the pop of pink and red, this could be a good Valentine's Day idea. Berets just speak romance and whats even better is the fact that you can also hide a very bad hair day as well.

If you are ever in the mood to amp up a new look or even feel a little lazy to dress up nice, just a beret. This trend will stay longer, and if it ever fades. Do Not Worry, it'll defiantly come back.
